1000 BRUSHSTROKES necklace
this piece was hand-carved from a block of excess wax I had accumulated over the past three months of wiping my wax pen while I worked on my models. I consider it to be an extension of my movements and thus my body: a physical representation of the time and spirit I've invested into casting. the clumpy, clotted texture on the front is complemented by a smooth, glittering texture on the back which I added with a diamond bur after casting. I set this piece with a blood-red garnet to tie it again to the body.
one-of-one and cast in Sterilite™ De-Ox sterling silver casting grain for up to 6x superior tarnish resistance. strung on 16 inches of solid sterling silver chain and finished with solid silver hardware.
